Red Libra in short is an Event, usually twice a year, comes with Anniversary around April and during a new update around November, during that event players can change (Main) classes to pretty much whatever they like or want to try out. Additionally with a small fee you can convert certain gear from fighter to mage gear and vice versa.
Characters
- Prerequisites: To change your main class, you need to be level 105 and above and have completed the 4th class transfer
- Cost: You can change classes as many times as you like, the first time it is free however starting from the second attempt you will be charged 3 billion adena per class change.
- Player Skills: All skills are reset but you do not lose Forgotten skills, the rest that require SP, Rune Stones are reset and you will have to re-learn them, in case you have a skill that requires a Greater Rune Stone, you are required to pay 500 Gold Coins per stone used, so I you have a total of 3 Greater Rune stones, you will need to pay 1500 Gold Coins to change class. You can choose not to pay but you will end up loosing the items.
- Learning Skills - SP : As mentioned earlier, all skills are reset, if you have enough SP to learn all the skills from the new class you have changed to, then you are good to go otherwise you can buy SP scrolls from one of the Event NPC's.
- Class / Race Restrictions: In Lineage II there have always been classes that are bound to certain races, such as Dominator & Warsmith, additionally there are 4 more classes that are both race and gender locked, Eviscerator / Sayha's Seer are only Female Ertheia, Shinemaker can only be Female Dwarf and Death Knight which can only be Male Human ( there are no other DK races in the live version of the game). Now if you select to change into one of those classes, you also change the appearance of your toon, for example, if you are a Dark Elf Tank and want to change to any of the previously mentioned classes, along with the class, you also change race ( in some cases gender as well).
- Dualclass Reawaken: Until the November of 2023 update, along with the main class in red libra, you could also change your dualclass for 300 million adena and keep your level. Since then, that is a permanent feature outside of red libra, you can change your dual class at any given time, you still get to pay 300mil adena and you get to keep your level, reawakeining the dualclass is similar to changing your main class, mostly the same things apply, the only difference is that there is no option to restore/pay to retrieve any Greater Rune Stones used.
Gear
Switching classes from a Fighter to another Fighter is not an issue, 99% of the times, you will be using the same exact build with the exact same items for the most part but what if you want to change from Fighter to Mage and vice versa?
Luckily during Red Libra you can change a lot of items but those items also have restrictions or better yet, certain requirements.
Weapons:
Lets start with the most obvious, weapons, you can change any R grade weapon from one type to another with a certain fee, the higher the grade, the higher the fee, although for R110 weapons the fee is around 3.2 billion adena. Unfortunately you cannot trade Dragon weapons stage 1/2 or cursed weapons, you can change a stage 3 weapon but you have to pay around 20.000 gold coins and you get a box, that you can get a RANDOM weapon, not really something a lot of players would do.
Soul Crystals
If your current soul crystals are between 8 and 10, then you can change them to something else, the soul crystal you receive is random but it is pretty cheap, around 200-300 mil per change, soul crystals that are between 5-7 are pretty cheap but keep in mind to always check the Player's Shops or Auction House
