Project Wolf – Early Planning

This is more a thinking out loud rather than a guide since all the info I have from Wolf comes from some KR streams, a lot of research and my personal experience with a top PvP clan in Aden back in 2021.

I know there are people that might be interested in this and others might want to wait a bit for a more detailed guide / info after the server opens. In any case, I will do what I always like to do, geek out on classes, skills and figure out what I want to play. With that I will also include why along with what we know so far.

Lets start with the restriction that we will have, which is 2 clients per PC, from past experience it is not per IP, unless this becomes a thing, it is a way to prevent the server from being overcrowded early on, this is something I believe that will be lifted at some point. Then we have the amount each account can spend, it was mentioned that this limit is permanent, that for once is a nice thing, you might not want to spend as much or even at all and still be somewhat close to the average of the server, the limit is 10 passes per account for 15$ each aka 150$ each.

Every account that pre-registers will receive:

The 2 dolls, will be a nice boost, that pdef/mdef and 80% chance for VR (vampiric rage) which is awesome for melee classes, compared to Aden start, we had to use a ton of potions, I believe we will not have an HP regen issue with these items, well they are more of a passive stat.

The 1/2/3* books & masterbook are also a HUGE initial boost since those were usually dropped from Raids or had a 10-30% success rate to craft using tablets, I could not find a “craft” tab now, a lot has changed since I stopped playing so we will see how we can obtain more books for the rest of the skills.

I am not sure what are the contents of the “wolf necklace pack” or “Level Achievement Growth Package Lv. 40” but I believe the later to be a +4 c grade armor with a +7 B grade weapon, something similar to the “starter” pack.

The accessories are also a nice boost, especially the Evas earring with the Mana Regen bonus and applies to the vast majority of the classes, of course the sayha’s ring is also a pretty nice boost too.

Lastly consumables and the mana tablets are used to learn skills and 5 is a good start but you “usually” need a stack of 31 to learn each skill, some classes have more skills that require tablets than others, i.e Daggers. Consumables is something you will always need, it is very likely that a portion of your daily adena farm, will be re-invested into shots and ore since some classes require more than others, spirit ore is not used just for buffs but to use skills also.

What Class to Play?

Let me start by saying that in Essence, you can change class with “class change tickets”, something like the Red Libra on Live and by changing class you assume the race as well, so you do not have to reroll from 0. Now one thing I remember is that you lose ALL skills, so I think it would be a good idea to pre-register on 2-3 accounts, simply for the books.

I will say that based on my Essence experience that for the most part classes are somewhat equal, but let me expand on this. Some have a good farming capability early in the game, others need their 76+ skills to be able to farm decently but if we put 2 classes one with good early game farm and another with late game farm, in a span of 3-4 months, they will farm roughly the same. Of course, ranged class will outfarm a melee class, Shilien Elder vs Dagger but a Dagger will have a slight edge in PvP. Different classes for different aspects of the game.

Of course some classes farm really nice and some are “FoTM” class (Fruit of the month, meaning the most popular) from information I gathered, the new Varka will be top tier farmer, along with Templar, Elemental Summoner & Shilien Knight.

My personal choice will most likely be Templar and I will be making a Shilien Elder, an Elemental Summoner and I really want to make an archer, so I am leaning towards Moonlight Sentinel. I have gathered information from current players on Aden as to what farms best. For PvP, I cannot make any recommendations but I know people will play all shorts of classes, either for nostalgia or to experience something new.

Essence Features

Some of the features might not make sense but the game is built like that so we have to “play” along, for example, there is a lot of gear that is NOT tradable. You simply farm and you build your own character, unlike Live that you need LUC to enchant your items.

All essence Armors and Weapons have a max enchant of +10 and it is not easy to get items to that enchant.

There are NO armor sets or armor masteries, for example, nightmare light gloves/boots give Vampiric Rage so you can be a Tank, use Majestic Heavy main armor for the stun resist and then use NM ( nightmare) gloves/boots so you do not have to use potions at all, Majestic Heavy Gloves and Boots give Attk Speed, so you might see archers with Majestic Light main armor and heavy Boots and Gloves, or back on the tank build, you can get a Dark Crystal helmet that gives the best Pdef boost. Of course this normalizes later on with higher tier armor and as you get more gear. Lets just say it is very similar to what we had back in the day, that you would wear what was available to you.

Raids are a thing in Essence, and a very good chance to see and experience mass PvP for those that are interested, all raids have a timer so every1 can see when they spawn and you can jump to each boss by paying L coin ( one of the currencies in Essence) or if you have my teleports saved.

Start Here!

Lineage II has been a game with a lot of nostalgia and memories, some good others… well, not so good but most players feel the need to make a comeback, either to play or sometimes to interact with the “not so friendly” community. We all have our moments, feel the need to troll a bit, or create some good old conflict, so we have something to do while we play.

Over the years, the game as we know it has evolved and at the same time, a few different versions of the game have emerged. Just so we are on the same page, the “good old Lineage 2” is now called “Live” and the rest of the versions are Classic, Aden and Project Wolf.

Now Classic may fool you by its name, it is not an older version of the game as many Private Servers, there is no Official C4/Interlude/Gracia servers that you can log in and just PvP, Classic has kept the classes as they before Goddes of Destruction, with a few altered skills and a very very different set of items, launched in 2018 with great hype from the players but it did fail to make an impact. Currently it is the least populated server.

Aden is actually “Essence” a more streamlined version of Lineage 2, launched in 2021 in the West. This version has a completely different model, its has more solo-oriented content unless you PvP or Raid, its been a minute since I played but I can tell you that it was really fun in the beginning when there was a spending limit per account, once the serious P2W started, the population slowly started to decrease.

Project Eva is an Essence based version that is not out in the West, NCA (NC America), decided to skip that version, instead we have the latest Essence version “Project Wolf”

Project Wolf is the latest version that will be available from 15th of April 2025 and as I mentioned earlier is the latest Essence version of the game. At this point, I would like to mention that all versions have their own servers, both EU and NA but keep in mind that there is Dimensional Content (Especially in Essence and Live versions, its been a while since I played Classic and since there will be no classic content on the website, I will not try to find out ). The reason I am saying this is there are instances that have “shared” times so regardless the server you play, the game content is based on fixed times.

This latest project is rumored to have limited spending as a permanent feature and an even easier leveling process, currently this version is not out yet so I will be updating this upon its release.

If I may offer a suggestion, I would say for those that are returning to the Live version, to play on Chronos as it has the most amount of people and at the same time the market has an abundance of items and reasonable prices for gear. Everyone else that is looking to start fresh, I would suggest Wolf since it will be easier to catch up.

Finally, I would like to let you know in advance, that the f2p model or the ability to play ( and enjoy the game) with 15-20$ is not something that is doable on Live, on Wolf I believe some progress can be made with that amount but the limit on every account will be 10 Wolf Passes (15$ per) so expect to spend anything between 15$ and 150$ or euros depending where you live.

Lineage II: A list of all the XP items and Potions

Lineage II: The multiple toons project

Owning multiple toons in Lineage 2, is not always a good thing. Especially when those toon have gear that you can sell. Sky is the limit for the game, new and expensive items are always added and we have to keep up with it, for the most part! Contrary to what many may think, you do not need everything +10 to have a decent toon.

The reason it is not good when having gear is that when a good opportunity presents, we always try to sell something from “an alt” depending on value, this might be just one or more items and that is something I have done myself, on multiple occasions.

Now why you would need multiple toons? Some free Events, Attendance Rewards, Anniversary Rewards start to slowly build on each toon you log in, which results in having a bit of gear and enough damage to be able to farm instances and make adena.

The whole process can be done for FREE but it takes time and patience. Not everything will come easy and some times rewards that were given in the past are a one time thing! It is possible you missed out on something good but eventually, you will get something that someone else will miss out on.

Since the game started, we all had 1-2 extra accounts, some had more but you need a buffer or 2, a healer, possibly a tank depending on your class, others have extra damage dealers and with the free items they handed out on the 20th Anniversary, it made the whole project a lot easier, a free Blessed Exalted Set and a Greater Rune Stone are a huge boost for every free to play toon, add the rest of the free rewards overtime and all you need is levels both on main class, as well as the dual.

There was a rework on Tanks, Healers and Enchanters in 2024, most of the unique buffs have been reworked, and buff effects increase as the players level increases, with 120 being the last available upgrade on buffs, so you see there is one incentive to have toons that are high level. I would say that 115 is the sweet spot for alts both Buffers and Damage Dealers but keep in mind that now ALL toons are damage dealers, all support classes were reworked and the majority of the toons can stand on their own, some have more expensive builds than others but for the most part even an Enchanter can do content around the characters level, assuming there is gear on the toon.

Having multiple toons is more than a simple task of logging them in or having them in party with your main toon so the get levels. Knowing each skill, different builds and how to get the most of each toon is something you learn over time. When you begin to fully understand that

LUC, a stat you need to Enchant Items.

Remember the thrill of enchanting your favorite items back in the day? A few scrolls and a bit of luck could transform an ordinary item into something extraordinary—unless, of course, you were dealing with Mage Weapons. Those enchantments often led to more frustration than success!

Fast forward to today, and the enchanting system has evolved with the introduction of the LUC factor. This new element influences your enchanting outcomes, but not compounding. Typically, LUC is derived from high-end, rare, or even some nostalgic items that are no longer available. Dive into the enchanting world and discover how LUC can change your game!

Here is a complete List:

LUC from Dyes 15
Virtual Points on Stats 3
Ability Points on Oracle with LUC 4
Honey Beer 3
LUC Potion 5
Lady Luck (Aden/Giran Church) 1-3 ( depending on proc)

Homunculus:
Red Luminous Popo 8 or Green Popo 5
Every Green Homunculus 2

Accessories:
Dragon ring +3 (or better) Luc 3
Dragon Earring +3 (or better) Luc 3
Dargon Necklace +3 (or better) Luc 3
(*most God Accessories Luc 3)
Ruler of authority/turth seeker-> Luc 2

Dragon leather shirt +5-> Luc 6 (or +7 for 7 Luc)
Luc Circlet ( the old hair accessory and it has to be a 1slot item) or Wings lv4, Luc 3
Radiant circlet Luc 2
Venir 24 Luc 3 (or Soul Talisman Luc 4)
Kaliel’s Bracelt Luc 1
Greater / Top Artifact Book lv 3 Luc 2 ( you need to have full artifacts as well)
Fate passive (from Exalted Quest) Luc 3

Nevit Cloak 3 or Exalted Cloak 1
Instanity Luc 2 (or Heavnly Talisman Luc 3)
Armor Set +10 Luc 1
Greater emerald Luc 3 ( Luc increases as you upgrade the item)
Top grade Brooch Luc 2
Dimensional Bracelet Luc 5 ( for those that did the dungeon in the past)
Super advance bracelet Luc 1
Dwarf Racial Luc 3
Fortune Seeker Class Specific Luc 3

On top of those “base” Luc stats, there are a few more ways to get Luc, there is:
Collection: All stats +1
Relic Collection +1 Luc
Augments:
Shirt +1 luc
Seed Bracelet +1 luc
Top Brooch +1 luc
Finally there are some Older Items that people have and I am sure I might be missing some, there is the Bracelet with +6 Luc, (was the reward from the instance in Faeron Village) and Christmas Talisman +1 to all stats.

There are players that have a separate “luc setup *” to enchant and have extra items with the correct augments in order to reach 125+ luc.

*the luc setup does NOT guarantee the success rate, but it increases the “Lady Luck” proc more often, additionally L grade gear enchanting, is not affected by luc.

Unless you’ve amassed over 100 LUC, I’d advise against enchanting anything. The success rates are already quite low, and unless you’re feeling particularly lucky, it’s a risky gamble. So, weigh your options carefully and decide if you’re ready to take the plunge into the enchanting world!

Element, Attack and Defense Attributes in Lineage 2

One of the key stats in the game is the Element or Attack and Defense Attribute. There are various ways you can get additional element on your character but at the same time, there are element thresholds that you need to meet to be able to do the full amount of damage, both in PvE and PvP. Lets focus on the PvE aspect of the game, new/returning players will not be running into PvP scenarios that often.

Element as a stat is available to both mobs and players both as an offensive and as a defensive stat. As players upgrade their gear, the element defense ( resistance) increases but for the mobs, it is fixed based on their level, we will get into that a bit later. The magic number that will allow you to do the vast majority of the available PvE content is 2460 but for the most part you will not be needing this amount until at least level 122.

Before diving into the details, there is something that you need to keep in mind, you add element in your stats to nullify the resistance the opponent has and it is not used as a way to do more damage although it is possible, let me explain. If a mob has 1700 attribute resist, you will need at least 1700 element attack, this will allow you to do the maximum amount of damage based on your gear/level etc. if you have 1610 or 1690, you still have the same amount of penalty and its usually around ~20% (confirmation pending). Not having the required amount of element, does not mean that you cannot hunt in a certain area it is possible you might have enough damage to kill mobs without the required attack attribute.

Remember Element has both attack and defense…. you need to get enough of both to be able to survive when hunting. For reference at 112 you need 1520 Attack/ 1700 defense and at 115 around 1820 Attack/ 1700 Defense.

Veteran Mask/Navari Mask up to 70 Element attack [Augment]
Foresight/Authority Circlet 50 Element attack
Armor (R99/R110/L Grade) up to 50 Element attack
Shield/Sigil up to 50 Element attack
Weapons:
350 Element attack for R99 Weapons
450 Element attack for R110 Weapons
500 Element attack for R110 Fists (special effect when enchanting +4 or more)
500 Element attack for Stage 1 Dragon Weapons (DW1)
999 Element attack for Cursed and Stage 2 or above weapons
(you can get Element attack from augmenting a weapon, but you rarely pick that option)
Accessories:
Angel Earring +6 or better, starting from 10 element attack all the way to 50 Element attack at +10
Dragon Earring 50 Element attack at +3, all the way to 120 Element attack at +10
The craft option on an Angel Ring, level1 is 10 Element attack, level2 is 20 and lv3 is 50 Element attack
Brooch and Jewels
A Greater or Top Brooch can get up to 50 Element attack
Opal/ G. Opal/ Top Opal
120 Element attack – 120 Element attack & 80 Element defense – 130 Element attack & 130 Element defense, with the best option being a Top Opal lv5 for 200/200 Attack/Defense.
Kaliel’s Bracelet & Talismans
The Bracelet can be augmented for up to 100 Element Attack/ Defense (rarely used, instead most use it for the patk/matk or p skill/m skill power)
Insanity & Seven signs combo, 50 Element attack if both items are equipped.
+10 Epic Talisman (when insanity/heaven equipped) 200 Element attack
(+0 Epic is still 50 Element attack, when insanity/heaven equipped)
Seed Bracelet & Agathions
Any Advanced Seed Bracelet from lv1 until lv4 has a default 50 Element attack
When augmenting, you get 2 options, Element Atk/Def and a basic stat like Patk/Matk/Skill Crit dmg etc..
( it is ideal to go for the highest possible element here, even if you are a fighter and get 1% matk, to go with 70 or 80 element attk).
The only agathion that has element is the Anakim Holly Barrier 30 Element attack
Top Artifact Book & Artifacts
The Artifact Book has 3 stages, Top one is the 3rd stage and at +5 you have +100 element atk and 100 element def ( 150 on each at +10)
This item also gets 2 options when augmenting, one of the possibilities is up to 50 Element attack.
There is an artifact that gives Element attack, 50 at lv4, 150 at lv10 but there is only 1 class that usually uses it, and the reason is simply because there is nothing else to use in that slot, that class is the eviscerator)
Passives
Dual Class Certification Level 107/110 –  50 Element attack
Forgotten Power Skills (lv20) –  50 Element attack
Homunculus (Ari) Green 40 Element attack / Red 50 Element attack

Dethrone Skills [read more]
Source of Fire 40 Element Attack and Defense per level, for a total of 10 levels.
Clan Skills
Between 5 and 25 Element Attack (depending on the clan level)

That should cover most of the available element to reach your desired goal, so lets try and emulate the ideal gear path.

+5 Circlet – 50
R110 Weapon – 450
+6 Angel Ring – 50
Greater Opal – 120
Insanity & 7signs – 50
Lv3 Seed Bracelet (70 element aug) – 120
+5 Top Artifact Book (no aug) – 100
Ability points – 140
Dual Class 107 – 50
Homunculus (Ari) Green – 40
(once reaching 110, can get easy Dethrone skill lv1 and in less than a month lv2 but we will go with lv1 for now)
Source of Fire lv1 – 40
Temp Collection – 50
Swamp Collection – 50
Iss Buffs – 110
Giant Forgotten -25
Up to this point we are at 1445 Element Attack with basic and cheap items while building a toon. It is safe to say that between 110 and 115, you can easily get another level on the Source of Fire (Dethrone Skill) and finish the Exalted Quest Part 7 for a total of 140 more element.

1560 Element with no Potions is a pretty good number, if you add Rose and Dragon Potion, the amount increases to 1730 and from there on, you get to decide how to increase the element attack even further based on what you can upgrade/buy.

On this last part, I have only added the cheapest items to get to that number, if you are in a clan, lvl 11, maybe get lucky for 100 element attack on the seed bracelet and possibly add 3 more points in the Oracle AP tree once you are 115+, you can easily get 1640 Element attack without Potions or if you have an Anakim Agathion & 1 or 2 of the other Element Attack Collections, 1700 is not that far off. Now 1870 Element Attack with potions is a very good spot to be, you can do most of the content up to 117/118 and you are getting ready for the higher level zones.

The Mentoring System in Lineage II

A system designed to help new players level faster but at the same time a way to level up a clan, a way for the mentor to get 10% XP and the last remaining way to make adena for players under the level of 110.

For this to work, you need a character level 105 or higher to be the mentor, and then that mentor can have up to 3 mentees. The benefits for the mentee is that while the mentor is online, you have permanent buffs that will allow you to keep on killing mobs without the need to get a buffer with you or go back in town every hour (until level 104 you can get hourly buffs from the mentor guide), the mentor however will receive a 10% xp buff while the mentee is online and a total of 100.000 mentee coins, after the mentee hits certain levels, 85, 99, 103 and 105 and will receive 5.000, 10.000, 25.000 and 60.000 coins for each level.

Once the mentee reached level 105, it automatically graduates and receives a box with gear and the mentor can add another mentee. If the mentee leaves on his own or is kicked, he can join another mentor right away, the mentor on the other hand will have to wait 48 hours before adding a new mentee.

You can add/remove a mentee from the System Menu -> Friend Manager

Usually the mentee marks are used for Timed Instances Recharge stones ( Pantheon for the most part) and to make your Atlas Earring +12. Of course there are other items you can buy with the mentee coins and each and every one of those items has its use but Pantheon Stones and making a +12 Atlas earring are the most common.

The first 4 items are Recharging Stones which can be used to increase the daily duration of each instance or be used for collections so the character can obtain permanent stats.

The beads are also used for collections, you can enchant them further and the initial purchase cost is 400.000 mentee coins each.

The commando belt is obtained once a character graduates at 105, but in case you have an old character, you can buy it with mentee coins.

The first 3 options are related to the Atlas earring, the 3rd is the actual earring, which is included in the graduation box, in case you do not have it, you can buy it for 100.000 mentee coins. Earring can be enchanted to +12 with scrolls, ( 100.000 each, 100% success rate) and then upgraded ( 100.000) for 3% P. Def/ M. Def

Veterans mask is also included in the graduation box, can get to +5, if the enchant fails, item resets to +0. The Fairy Agathion is given during the main questline.

The Shiny Ornament also costs 100.000 mentee coins, can be sold to the NPC for adena, please avoid, 2x Recharge stones will give more adena.

There are frequent events throughout the year that eliminate the XP penalty of 10 levels and players can level mentees to 105 in a couple of hours. This usually causes prices of recharge stones to drop but at the same allows players to make quite a bit of adena.

Lastly, by making mentees you can give clan reputation to your clan, you need to have the 2nd class transfer done ( lv40) and then as you level you get to complete clan quests that will benefit both the mentee and the clan. The Mentee will get Rune Stones ( x8) to learn skills, you also get another 8, if you level up your dualclass to 105 and the clan will get clan reputation points.

A list of all the reuse items.

When it comes to optimizing your character in Lineage 2, one stat that often goes overlooked by newer players but is crucial for every build is reuse. This stat plays a vital role in determining how frequently you can use your skills and self-buffs, directly impacting your skill rotation and overall effectiveness in both PvE and PvP. The lower your reuse time, the more often you can unleash powerful abilities, giving you a significant edge in battle. However, achieving a desirable level of reuse often requires investing in high-end gear, making it a stat that’s typically associated with expensive items. Understanding and prioritizing reuse can make a substantial difference in your gameplay, regardless of your character’s class or playstyle.

Here is a list with all the available reuse items.

  1. Necklace [Total 15%] : One of the common items is the Blessed Valakas w/Mind that gives 13% reuse, then its the Angel Necklace, not as popular and the amount of reuse is related to the enchant level, +6 is 11% reuse and +10 is 15% reuse, then we have the Grand Kain & Einhasads Necklace, their level also dictates the amount of reuse, stage 1 is 10% and stage 6 is 15% but as we all know this is a pretty rare and pricy item. Finally we have the Dragon Necklace, you only need it to +3 for the max reuse of 15%.
  2. Armor Light & Robe [Total 10%] : All Light & Robe armor sets give +10% reuse when enchanted to +8, the blessed exalted set (rob & light) gives a +3% at +0 and then another 5% at +8 for a total of 8%
  3. Dragon Rind Shirt [Total 5%]: The shirt comes with a 3% reuse bonus at +0, the next enchant levels where you get more reuse is at +8 for 4% and +10 for 5%.
  4. Dual Class [Total 4%]: The passive skill can be obtained with normal certificates (up to 105) and it takes 2 certificates
  5. Forgotten Defense +30 [Total 10%] : The passive skill starts to give 1% reuse at +21 and from there on, 1% for every enchant for a total of 10%
  6. Greater Aquamarine Lv2 [Total 5%]: The greater jewel at lv1 gives 5% cooldown to magical skills, starting at lv2, you get 5% reuse for all skills and it does not increase any further.
  7. Sayha Talisman [Total 5%]: A very important item as it provides a lot of passive but also active buffs, both for PvE and PvP, at +8 you get 5% Skill Cooldown but you also need at least a lv12 or better Venir Talisman to activate the reuse bonus. The item itself can be enchanted to Greater +10 but the Skill Cooldown does not increase any more.
  8. Insanity / Heaven Talisman [Total 3%] : The Heaven is the upgrade of the Insanity, so only one effect can be equipped, all Talismans give 3% reuse.
  9. Agathions Greater Pisces and Saggitarius [Total 10% (5% – Each)]: The Agathions usually have a certain bonus, from +0 to greater +4, once an Agathion is Greater +5, you get an extra stat, this applies to both G Saggitarius and G Pisces, at +5 they give 3% Skill Cooldown , at +8 they give 4% Skill Cooldown and at +10 they give 5% Skill Cooldown (each).
  10. Fallen Angel Earring [Total 5%]: Unlike the Necklace, that gives you reuse as a basic stat, the Fallen Angel Earring gives up to 5% reuse on Craft. Lv1 is 1% reuse, Lv2 is 2% reuse and Lv3 is 5% reuse, it is a 4% chance and to get it you need to talk to Accessory Artisan “Denign” in Giran.
  11. Ability Points Tree (AP Tree) [Total up to 7%] : Unlike the other items, that require adena to obtain, the reuse from your AP are purely level dependent, this means that the first 3% is easy to get, at level 110 you can have all the point to get reuse and damage, however in order to get another 4% from the Oracle Tree, you need to be 122. You can obtain it earlier but at 122 you get both the max damage from Warrior AP as well as the reuse from the Oracle AP tree.
  12. Shilien Soul Crystal [Total 14%]: A Shilien’s Soul Crystal at max level (10) will give you 14% reuse, going down you get -2% for every level.
  13. Homunculus [Total 5%]: There are certain Homunculus that give reuse at certain levels and those are Ari, Angel and Pegasus. Each type has a total of 4 levels, the white/grey, that is the lowest one, the green (mid) and the red (top one), there is a level beyond those that is called hero but the cooldown does not increase further. so White/Grey give 3%, Green 4% and Red 5% ( same as the hero).
  14. 30 day Pdef/Mdef Talisman [Total 5%]: A temporary – 30 day item that takes up a talisman slot and gives 5% reuse along with 10% pdef and mdef.
  15. Kaliels Bracelet [Total 3%]: This 3% Skill Cool down is a very rare one that comes in the form of an augment along with 100 element attack and defense.
  16. Weapon Augment [Total 5%]: Very unlikely that anyone will keep a 5% reuse augment on a weapon but this is an option as well
  17. Racial Skill (Dwarf) [Total 2%]: This is not for everyone, this is a passive to the dwarven race, so all race locked classes cannot benefit from this.
  18. Dual Blunt Weapons [Total 3%]: Again this is reuse comes in handy to classes that use Dual Blunts, so there are only certain classes that benefit from this one.

Ether, how to get it and where to spend it.

What is it?

Ether is a resource that can be used in various aspects of the game, such as crafting, upgrading gear (mostly to L grade) & Dethrone Skills. Now, Ether for the longest time has been sitting in our inventories collecting dust until the ” Dethrone: Fire ” updated was launched and all of a sudden, it was the most valuable item you could farm due to the requirement in one of the Dethrone Skills.

At first you could use Ether, along with other materials you farm to craft R99 & R110 armors, weapons, brooch jewels and the majority of the items on the craft tab. Then the Dethrone Skills were introduced, which require 400 per day so you can keep leveling one of the skills and finally the L grade upgrades require a substantial amount of ether, north of 100k per item if we are talking about “peripherals”, like Circlet, Shirt, Brooch etc, and a little bit less for L grade armor parts.

How to get it?

Well, there are a few ways to get Ether. The most known one is that you get 120 Ether per day per character, from hunting anywhere in the map except Dethrone.

Then you have the in-game adena shop that you can buy 50 per day for 1mil per Ether. There is also the option to buy with gold coins, 10 Ether per gold coin.

For those that are 120+, after the revamp on the daily hunting zones (Pantheon, Jamoa, Fiorens, Crisis), you can get 100 pouches ( Shining Aden Treasure Pouch) that contain Ether, Crystal of Protection, Crystal of Determination and Crystals of Dawn, for the most part the ether is around 90 per day.

So for those 120+ you can estimate around 250 Ether per day.

Additionally, if a compound of armor & accessory soul crystals fails (Eva’s, Pa’agrio, Tersi & Masia) or Beads ( Orb of Abyss, Dark Bead, Blood Red Soul Bead), you get 1 Ether, so compounding with the character that you need Ether is recommended. Additionally when crafting armor augment stones ( via the craft tab), you get 1 ether per failed attempt, the craft offers a 60/40 chance and it is by far the most accurate in-game success rate. Basically, they players will craft Armor Augment stones and sell them but in the process, make about 40 Ether per batch, since each batch is 100 stones. Lastly the compound materials from bosses like Freya and Ramona instances, they have the same mechanic as the Soul Crystals/Beads, you get an Ether upon failure to compound.

How to spend it…

One thing is for sure, Ether is not used for anything in the craft tab anymore, for the most part its is used for Dethrone Skills and its not enough. If a player goes by the daily standard, it is 250 Ether using the conventional ways to get it ( 120 from mobs, 50 from Adena store and about 90 from Shining Pouches) but you need 400 for the Dethrone Skills alone.

Crafting Armor Augment stones, costs about 3 billion Adena and you get about 40 Ether, but this depends on how much you can wait for those stones to be sold in order to get your money back.

In the last year, L grade armor and other items have been introduced and are available to upgrade for players with the resources to do so. Now as mentioned earlier the requirement there is tens of thousands of Ether for armor pieces and around 105.000 for peripherals like Top Artifact Book, Dragon Rind Shirt etc.

* keep in mind that those numbers might be different between regions, those numbers are for the NA servers.

What class to play as a new/ returning player?

The vast majority of the questions in Lineage II, have the same answer, “Depends”! In order to reply to that question, I would have to say, “depends on what you want to do”. Are you a man with a plan or you are trying thins out until you like something and start playing that?

In general, you really need a “shifting goal” in order to stay motivated into playing the game, let me explain. This game requires a lot of time and patience, this is not a fast-paced game, you make take weeks or even months to get a level in most cases there are ways to get levels faster depending on your class and/or level, of course ongoing events is also something to consider when leveling but lets start small.

In most games you select a class that you like to play, however in Lineage II you have to select a class that you can sustain and play that, until you are able to play the class that you like and use the Red Libra event [] to switch classes.

With the total revamping of the support classes that is estimated to be completed by 2025, all players will be able to farm their own adena, something that was not possible for tanks/healers and enchanters, most if not all had to rely on their dualclass or a second account they used as a way to earn adena in places like Tower of Insolence or Pantheon.

Lets start with another generality, you cannot play the game absolutely free, once you hit 105 while still with the quest gear, each mob will seem like a raid boss. You will soon come to realize that some form of investment will have to go in the character so here is my list, starting with toons that need the least amount of gear.

As far as damage dealers go, Eviscerator, Dagger, Summoner, Death Knight, Tyrr, Shinemaker, Feoh, Archer. Now for support Enchanter, Healer and Tank you cannot really solo PvE just yet but they are not nearly as cheap as the single target classes. Each class group the common skills and then the class specific skills that separate one class from another.

Each class has its pros and cons:

Eviscerator: Single target melee damage dealer with high evasion, this is the only class that relies entirely in melee attacks and requires normal critical damage.

Daggers: There are 4 different classes, Fortune Seeker, Ghost Hunter, Wind Rider and Adventurer with the first one being the best PvE class due to the 30% pve damage passive skill and the Ghost Hunter being the best one for PvP. The rest are not “bad” but it really comes down to the class specific skills since the Wind Rider has cooldown and Adventurer has a boost in hp/cp. The best part about daggers is that they benefit from both normal critical damage and skill critical damage, so if an item has both the stats, the dagger will hit harder.

Summoners: Newly revamped class, master and pets are affected by matk and require mage items. The combination of ranged attacks/debuffs between the master and the pets along with the transfer pain and balance heal make this class a killing machine.

Death Knight: The DK is the current FOTM class being able to do extremely well in PvE with the right build, it really has everything, from skill critical rate in 3 different self buffs to 2 ranged skills as well as 3 different AOEs, this class can do wonders with the right amount of reuse. Just remember there is a limit on items with reuse so it becomes pricy after a certain point.

Tyrr Warrior: With a selection of 6 different classes the Tyrr Warriors are a class that every MMO has, Class specific skills are what makes the big different between them. They are in my opinion the most versatile class and can pretty much survive quite a bit due to their self buffs and the build that you select to do. All Tyrrs play with skill crit damage build to be more precise, they only use skills to either PvE or PvP, unlike the good old pole parties we did back in the day with a Titan killing everything and the rest sipping cocktails!

Shinemaker: New Mage class that uses both a bow and a slasher, the only class as of 2024 that can alter between weapons and also have a different set of skills for each one, Ranged single target for the bow, close combat aoe with the slasher. Able to take a hit or 2 before dying and also having the flexibility & jumps of a wizard.

Feoh: Classic wizards, aoe class but not that strong to do high level/ endgame areas, requires a lot of gear to build one properly and is not that popular among the damage dealers. Eech feoh has 2 or more different elemental stances, which determine what skills he is going to use.

Archer: The most gear hungry class in the game, requires a substantial amount of gear to be able to do anything but once the gear is there, noone can outdamage this class, There are 4 different classes with opinions varying on which one is the best class since each one of them have for the most part the same skills, only the self buffs are different and the newly added lv110 skill. Pure damage, the Ghost Sentinel is the strongest, then Saggitarius and Trickster are roughly the same with Moonlight Sentinel, being last, however the Moonlight Sentinel has 10% more reuse than the rest and a 3rd aoe, giving the class huge potential with the right gear.

Tanks, Enchanters and Healers:
A revamp for some of the classes has taken place and the rest are in progress.
