A system designed to help new players level faster but at the same time a way to level up a clan, a way for the mentor to get 10% XP and the last remaining way to make adena for players under the level of 110.
For this to work, you need a character level 105 or higher to be the mentor, and then that mentor can have up to 3 mentees. The benefits for the mentee is that while the mentor is online, you have permanent buffs that will allow you to keep on killing mobs without the need to get a buffer with you or go back in town every hour (until level 104 you can get hourly buffs from the mentor guide), the mentor however will receive a 10% xp buff while the mentee is online and a total of 100.000 mentee coins, after the mentee hits certain levels, 85, 99, 103 and 105 and will receive 5.000, 10.000, 25.000 and 60.000 coins for each level.
Once the mentee reached level 105, it automatically graduates and receives a box with gear and the mentor can add another mentee. If the mentee leaves on his own or is kicked, he can join another mentor right away, the mentor on the other hand will have to wait 48 hours before adding a new mentee.
You can add/remove a mentee from the System Menu -> Friend Manager
Usually the mentee marks are used for Timed Instances Recharge stones ( Pantheon for the most part) and to make your Atlas Earring +12. Of course there are other items you can buy with the mentee coins and each and every one of those items has its use but Pantheon Stones and making a +12 Atlas earring are the most common.
The first 4 items are Recharging Stones which can be used to increase the daily duration of each instance or be used for collections so the character can obtain permanent stats.
The beads are also used for collections, you can enchant them further and the initial purchase cost is 400.000 mentee coins each.
The commando belt is obtained once a character graduates at 105, but in case you have an old character, you can buy it with mentee coins.
The first 3 options are related to the Atlas earring, the 3rd is the actual earring, which is included in the graduation box, in case you do not have it, you can buy it for 100.000 mentee coins. Earring can be enchanted to +12 with scrolls, ( 100.000 each, 100% success rate) and then upgraded ( 100.000) for 3% P. Def/ M. Def
Veterans mask is also included in the graduation box, can get to +5, if the enchant fails, item resets to +0. The Fairy Agathion is given during the main questline.
The Shiny Ornament also costs 100.000 mentee coins, can be sold to the NPC for adena, please avoid, 2x Recharge stones will give more adena.
There are frequent events throughout the year that eliminate the XP penalty of 10 levels and players can level mentees to 105 in a couple of hours. This usually causes prices of recharge stones to drop but at the same allows players to make quite a bit of adena.
Lastly, by making mentees you can give clan reputation to your clan, you need to have the 2nd class transfer done ( lv40) and then as you level you get to complete clan quests that will benefit both the mentee and the clan. The Mentee will get Rune Stones ( x8) to learn skills, you also get another 8, if you level up your dualclass to 105 and the clan will get clan reputation points.
